MODERATOR: Marius Soflete
Marius Șoflete is a structural engineer and one of the pioneers of energy-efficient construction in Romania. He is an Accredited Passive House Trainer and Certifier and the founder of the educational platform soflete.ro.
He designed and delivered the first internationally certified Passive Houses in Romania, certified by the Passive House Institute in Germany, as well as the country’s first multi-storey timber building. He was involved in the development of Romania’s first premium passive house, recognized among the world’s top 10 projects for energy performance. He participated in Solar Decathlon Europe 2012, and one of his most iconic projects is a mountain refuge built in a remote alpine area and assembled by helicopter.
Through Inginerie Creativă, he develops and implements low-impact, high-performance building solutions. Through soflete.ro, he has created over 800 educational video materials demonstrating both the theory and practice of building properly and responsibly in Romania.
At Kraft Campus Brașov, he delivers internationally accredited Passive House courses, contributing to the training of a new generation of professionals and restoring pride in the construction craft. He also organizes nZEB Expo, Romania’s largest event dedicated to energy efficiency and accelerating the transition toward energy-independent building
